The 3rd annual Bacon 5K Challenge, presented by Toyota — which includes a half-pound bacon-eating challenge at the race’s halfway point as well as a celebratory piece of chocolate-covered bacon at the race’s conclusion — will make its return to Coca-Cola Park on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 9 a.m. Nearly 1,000 runners (and eaters) have completed the challenge during the two-year history of this event. This year’s race is just $39 per registrant – a $6 savings off the 2015 price.
The Bacon 5K Challenge, presented by Toyota, is on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 9 a.m. and will start and end at Coca-Cola Park while, of course, including the most popular and unique eating element in 5K history.
Bacon 5K Challenge will make your pork-loving dreams come true. Following the run (which starts and ends at Coca-Cola Park), guests are treated with bacon, eggs, breakfast, fresh fruit, and orange juices. They have to eat half a pound of bacon before running another 2.5 kilometers (that’s about 9 to 10 slices of bacon).Eating the bacon sliced may take longer for the participants than if its eaten minced. Candidates are hence, allowed to use the meat grinder at the starting poll before they commence with the challenge. Registration will end on Friday, Sept. 16. Race packet pick-up is available at Coca-Cola Park beginning on Mon., Sept. 12 through Wed., Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Coca-Cola Park ticket office.
